Landscapes have always been a recurring topic in art as it is served initially only as a backdrop but gradually established themselves as the subject matter of art. When landscapes are not meaningless empty scenes, what lies behind them is the political ideology deeply embedded in the land since human beings live in a world where they are related to the land. An attempt to give meaning to the place of human existence through various concepts. Therefore, it is an intellectual activity that has always been carried out.

The series "The Boundary of Solitude" invites us to consider the nation-building process of the Thai state. Explore the forest landscape, the former red area of the Phu Phan Mountain range, including the Mekong River border area—a colonial-era heritage with ethnic kinship separated by imaginary lines on the map. As a result, both sites are geopolitically important—The battle for hegemony of both political ideology camps during the Cold War. Traveling to remote areas this time caused Sinvaravatn to not see the landscape as just a stationary object waiting to be gazed upon by him. On the contrary, the trees, mountains, rivers, and buildings he encountered along the way are forming his experience. The landscape, as a territory of self existence that extends beyond the physical body, has the role of the purely natural world and includes political activities such as state policy or international relations expressed through material operations in the area. The sensory experience of the artist's journey works in conjunction with the ontology of the narratives of former comrades. It resulted in a place that had nothing to do with him, exposing the inconsistency between the small, hard-to-reach, and loud national narratives. This leads to questioning the artist's identity positioning in the imagined community called Thailand.

ภาพทิวทัศน์เป็นหัวข้อที่ปรากฏในผลงานศิลปะเสมอมา ตั้งแต่เมื่อไรกันที่ภาพทิวทัศน์ซึ่งแต่เดิมทําหน้าที่เป็นเพียงฉากหลังได้สถาปนาตัวเองให้กลายเป็นหัวข้อของเนื้อหาในผลงานศิลปะ เมื่อภาพทิวทัศน์ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงภูมิทัศน์ว่างเปล่าที่ไร้ความหมาย แต่สิ่งที่ดํารงอยู่เบื้องหลังคืออุดมการณ์ทางการเมืองที่แฝงฝังลงลึกไปในแผ่นดิน ด้วยเหตุที่มนุษย์ดํารงชีวิตอยู่ในโลกซึ่งจําเป็นต้องสัมพันธ์กับแผ่นดินไม่ทางใดก็ทางหนึ่ง ความพยายามในการให้ความหมายต่อสถานที่ที่ตนดํารงอยู่ของมนุษย์ผ่านกรอบคิดต่างๆ จึงเป็นกิจกรรมทางปัญญาที่ได้กระทําเสมอมา 

 

ผลงานชุด "The Boundary of Solitude" ชวนพิจารณากระบวนการสร้างชาติของรัฐไทย ผ่านการสำรวจภูมิทัศน์ป่าเขาซึ่งเป็นอดีตพื้นที่สีแดงบริเวณเทือกเขาภูพาน รวมถึงพื้นที่ชายแดนแม่น้ำโขง มรดกจากยุคอาณานิคมที่แบ่งเครือญาติชาติพันธุ์ออกจากกันด้วยเส้นสมมติบนแผนที่ ส่งผลให้พื้นที่ทั้งสองฝั่งมีความสำคัญทางภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ ในฐานะสมรภูมิการครองความเป็นเจ้าของทั้งสองค่ายอุดมการณ์ทางการเมืองในช่วงสงครามเย็น การเดินทางไปยังพื้นที่ห่างไกลในครั้งนี้ ทำให้วัชรนนท์ไม่ได้มองภูมิทัศน์ว่าเป็นวัตถุเนือยนิ่งที่รอการจ้องมองจากเขาแต่เพียงเท่านั้น ต้นไม้ ภูเขา แม่น้ำ และสิ่งปลูกสร้างต่างๆที่พบเจอระหว่างทางได้ย้อนกลับมาก่อรูปประสบการณ์ต่อตัวเขา ภูมิทัศน์ในฐานะขอบเขตของตัวตนที่ขยายออกไปนอกร่างกายจึงไม่ได้มีเพียงบทบาทของโลกธรรมชาติที่บริสุทธิ์ แต่ยังรวมถึงกิจกรรมทางการเมืองอย่างนโยบายรัฐ หรือความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศที่แสดงออกผ่านปฏิบัติการทางวัตถุในพื้นที่อีกด้วย ประสบการณ์เชิงผัสสะในการเดินทางของศิลปินได้ทำงานร่วมกับภววิทยาของเรื่องเล่าผ่านบันทึกของเหล่าอดีตสหาย ส่งผลให้สถานที่ที่ซึ่งไม่ได้มีอะไรผูกพันกับเขาโดยสิ้นเชิง ได้เผยแสดงถึงความไม่ลงรอยกันระหว่างเรื่องเล่าขนาดเล็กที่ยากจะเอื้อนเอ่ยกับเรื่องเล่าแห่งชาติที่เสียงดังกึกก้อง ซึ่งนำมาสู่การตั้งคำถามถึงการจัดวางตัวตนของศิลปินลงบนชุมชนจินตกรรมที่ชื่อว่าประเทศไทย
